The U.P. Commandos
Prologue
In the year 3272,
In a time, long, long from now, in a Galaxy not too far awayin fact its the Milky Way. An Alien Imperialistic Empire
has obliterated the planet that the Humans had inhabited for little over 2 million years. Out of nowhere (rather out of Warp)
the Aliens from a planet on the west side of the Alpha Omega 49-7 system came and drained the Earth of all its resources.
Few Humans survived the blasts and mining probes and most of the wildlife was wiped out, save the frozen embryos saved by
the brilliant military genius of Chris Morris and the troops of Antarctica. The entire population of Earth, or what was left
(600 military, 1,000 civilians) fled to Mars and the safety of its Iron deposits. Of all of the United Planetary Commandos,
the following are the most important: Chris Morris, Chris Atwood, Chris Abbott, Kevin Brienen, Matt York, Jennifer Cooper,
Lauren Ward, Matt Arp, Natalie Korth, Corey Horn, Joel Thorpe, and Karen Hare. They and a few others are all that is left
of the U.P. Commandos, earths once unbeatable Global army. The main force of the Commandos perished in the War of the Worlds
10 years ago against the Imperials. Our story starts there, in the dark of the advent of war
CHAPTER

U.P.
Command Base. Alpha Sentari, Mars.
3161,
April 3.
Barracks, Room 730.
It is a cold spring morning, abnormal for this late in the spring, but it is. At 0600 hours Chris Morris, Commander
of the U.P. Commando squadron Splatter Bolts, wakes up. He goes to his closet and pulls out the crisp uniform of the U.P.
Commandos. He could, however, wear his Geni robes, but Master Brienen had said not to flaunt ones powers. Cmdr. Morris thought
if his new Padawan learners were ready. He had seen them grow strong. Soon he would let them build their own sabers. Chris
glanced at his own lightsaber, and then looked at the chrono. He ran out the door to wake up the rest of his squadron for
a meeting in the War room. He goes out into the hallway and starts toward the next door. Room 731, Jennifer Cooper wakes up
and barely gets dressed before Chris comes through her door to tell her about the orders.
'Yo
Jenn, We just got an assignment!'
'What!
This early? I ant even dressed!' Jenn replies.
'So?'
'Get
out you pervert!'
'What?'
'You
heard me! Go wake up the rest of the Squad and then come back for me in 10 minutes.'
And
with that, Jenn shut the door in Chriss face. He stood there perplexed for a moment thinking on what Jenn had said in the
short conversation. Then he decides to take her advice and goes to wake up the rest of the team. He walks down to Room 732,
Laurens room. He knocks on the door rapidly for approximately 6 seconds. No answer. He knocks again. Not a sound is heard
from with in the room.
'Darn
it Lauren, where the heck are you!?!'
Suddenly
the door to 733 opens. Chris pivots on his heels and comes face-to-face with Lieutenant Lauren Ward in her undergarments and
the rest of her clothes under her arm. In the door Private Matt Arp stands nude and smiling.
'What
the Heck are you doing out of your room Lieutenant?!
And what the Heck are you smiling at Private?!'
'Uuuuumuomp.
ahhhhhhhhtheres a good reason, Sir!' Private Matt utters.
' I
was discussing some new data on the Sulis Van incident with the Private, Sir!' replied Lauren.
'In
your birthday suit Lieutenant?! I am not that gullible. I doubt that you even got one word out before he was all over you
an...'
'So?'
retorted Lauren.
'Do
not interrupt me Lieutenant. I want you and Pt. Numb Nuts to get dressed and to never, I said never, to do these
transgressions ever again. Is that clear?'
'Yes,
Commander, sir!' they both replied.
'Good!
Be in the WAR ROOM in 30 minutes. Good day!'
'@$$hole!' Matt mumbled under his breath.
'What a tight @$$! Never is he lenient to anyone. If I were his commanding officer,
I would spank that cute @$$ of his! Oh wellCome on, Commander Morris does not favor lateness and I bet that hell have it in
for us if we are. '
With that, they went to their rooms and got ready.
Chris continued on his rounds of morning call
CHAPTER
2
After
waking up Matt York, Chris Atwood, Nick, Natalie, and going to meet Kevin and Chris Abbott, Chris went back to his room, grabbed
the reports and assignments for his squadron, and then after a thought, grabbed his light saber and left the room heading
towards the War Room. As he clipped the saber to his belt, he sensed that Jenn
had not gone to the meeting yet. He then knocked on her door.
'Are you still in there?!' he asked through the door.
'Yeah, yeah, keep your pants on!' came Jenns voice
from inside.
'Speaking of keeping pants on, guess who I saw fooling
around in the ranks?'
'Pt. Matt Arp and Lt. Lauren Ward?' she said as the
door opened.
'Pt. Matt Arp and Lt. . Huh? You already knew?'
'Yeah. Everybody knows about that. Didnt you?'
'No, not until this morning.'
'Oh. Then dont worry about it. Its probably just
a fling. Three weeks is nothing.'
'Three weeks!! THREE WEEKS!! This has been going
on for three weeks!!??' shouted Chris.
'Yeah, just dont worry about '
~Blimmmmmmmmmmm~
'Commander Morris?' a new voice said on the intercom.
'Yes? This is he. 'Chris replied.
'Uhum Commander this is Matt Sherbel. Im the new
tech adviser for your squadron. Im the replacement for Phil. The meeting in the
War Room is now ready, sir.'
'Okay then. Thanks. Well be right there, Chris out!'
3161, April 3
0700 War Room, third floor
The Splatter Bolt squadron had settled down into
the seats assigned to them by their rank. Commander Chris Morris sat at the head of the table with both his captains on either
side of him. Captain Chris Atwood sat at his left and Captain Jennifer Cooper at his left. To the left of Chris A. sat Lt. Capt. Matt York and Pt. Matt Arp to the left of him. To the right of Jenn were Lt. Capt. Natalie
Korth and Lt. Lauren Ward. At the foot of the table sat Ensign Nick and Computer technician Matt S. All of them snapped to
attention when Commander Chris cleared his throat.
'As you all know, I have you all here because we
have a new mission.' He addressed them.
'So what is it already?' Jenn burst out.
'It is a mission as I said, 'Chris glared at her
till she winced with private agony then continued, 'to the Alquerna System. We are to go to the third planetoid and infiltrate
the Imperial base there. We then get the plans for all Military actions in the next four years. The Emperor is restless, and
above all, ruthless'
Cmdr. Chris looked up from the report, 'Yes, Tech
Matt?"
'Uuum sir, if I may say so, sir, with your permission,
sir, and without any disrespect, sir, or any that I ...' Matt S. sputtered out.
'JUST SAY IT, Tech ass. Matt!' Chris commanded him
out of boredom of the long excuses that would follow if Matt was not stopped. -Why do I get these bootlicking newbies? -Chris
asked himself.
'Its the Alqüermá System, sir, sorry sir, I had to
correct you sir' Matt got out before Cmdr. Chris stopped him again.
'Oook Matt, a mission to the Alqüermá System.
I will now assign your duties.' Chris then gave out the assignments sheets to their owners. They all looked at their sheets
and read their jobs. Suddenly the double back doors to the War room were kicked open and three thermal detonators were thrown
in. In a flash, Chris Morris jumped over the table and landed at the back of the room. The detonators beeped a digital countdown.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Chris felt as if time had slowed down as he reached to disarm the bombs. The little screens read
00:01. This is the end, Chris thought. The following explosion was deafening.
With
split-second reflexes, Cmdr. Chris jumped to the to rescue of his team. He whipped out his light saber and quickly ignited
it. With a snap-hiss the deep cerulean-white blade came to life and instantly Chris began to cut and psychically repel the
falling debris of wooden doors and derma-crete wall. The rest of the squad fell back to the front of the room. All, that is,
except Ensign Nick and Tech Matt. They were buried somewhere in the mess of debris. As the dust settled, there was an eerie
silence that fell. Cmdr. Chris looked into the dust and saw something that could even frighten a RancorThen the silence was
shattered, as multiple shots of shredder bolts cut into the room. Chris pulled out again and felt the deep powerful presence
of the Farce flow into him. Using his light saber, Chris repelled the shredder bolts and drove them back into to the owners
bodies with the Farce. Almost instinctively, Chris used the Farce to survey the enemies numbers. That was a bad move, for
he saw that there were too many Blaze-Class Stormtroopers out there in the hall for 3 Geni Knights trained in the Old Order.
But Chris did not have that many Knights, only one trained Knight and four more that showed promise, but had not been trained
as apprentices.
'Splatter Bolts, to the challenge!' He yelled over the
shrill blasts of shredder shots burning ozone. Almost immediately, the Farce sensitive members of his squad pulled out their
weapons and began to fire upon the Stormtroopers, hitting most of their targets. Jenn was amazed at the accuracy that she,
Chris A., Matt Y., and Natalie were showing and how far they had grown in their shooting abilities. Before they had been selected
and trained to be in this elite squad, she doubted that any of them could have shot all the Blaze-class Stormtroopers they
were now hitting, let alone all the regular class Stormtroopers that were enlisted in the Imperial Army. Meanwhile, Pvt. Matt
A. ran to the top right-hand corner of the room and started to cry for his mommy. Lt. Ward, upon seeing this, tried to comfort
him and to find medical supplies for the wounded members of the team. She did find the medical supplies in the form of First-Aid
kits, but she failed to calm down the over-emotional private. Then from behind her, Lauren heard a faint groan and she turned
around. There she saw a bloody mass. It was Matt S. lying in a pool of his own blood and his lower torso covered in dura-crete
wall debris. Commanding the private to help her, Lauren dug out the wounded technician and started bandaging his wounds. The
battle began to end as the Blaze-class Stormtroopers numbers began to dwindle, but they still out-numbered the squad 2 to
1. Or perhaps 3 to 1, for four of the squad were not fighting. One was badly hurt, one was unaccounted for, one was applying
medical aid to the first, and the last was crying like a newborn baby. Finally, Lauren could not take it anymore and took
out the stun-stick from her belt, put it to Matt A.s neck, and pulled the trigger. The privates body slumped to the floor,
not moving for some time. 10 minutes later, the fight was over.
CHAPTER
3
3161 April 3, 0800, Main hall, Second Floor.
Cmdr. Chris came out from the Report and Filing office, and started to head towards the Hall of Records, when his personal
communicator beeped.
'Yes?' He spoke into it.
'Chris? Hey, this is Jenn. The others are now in
the sickbay, both the injured and uninjured. Matt S. shows signs of an amazing recovery!'
'Ok. I'll come down there as soon as I download some
facts onto my data cards. Chris out.'
Chris walked on and reached the Hall in a few minutes.
Once there, he passed the guards, a checkpoint, and a new group of guards (newly posted because of recent events). He looked
for an open computer, and once he found one, sat at it and started to search for information. He inserted a data card and
started to download the security camera tapes and interviews on the events of the morning. This is what he found:
~ ENTER PASSWORD~
~PASSWORD APPROVED. ACCESS GRANTED~
30 BLAZE-CLASS STORMTROOPERS WERE REPORTED LANDING
AT THE MOS CASTO SPACEPORT. INQUERIES ON WHY THEY WERE NOT STOPPED AT CUSTOMS ARE UNDER INVESTIGATION. AT 0700 A LARGE VAN
WAS SEEN TO PULL UP TO THE BLUE STAR HOTEL, BASE HEADQUARTERS FOR THE U.P. COMMANDOS. AFTER SOME BRIBING (PERSONS ACCUSED
ARE NOW UNDER QUESTIONING) AND STUNNING, THE TROOPERS WORKED THEIR WAY UP TO THE TO WAR ROOM. SOURCES SAY THAT THEY WERE SENT
TO STOP THE RECONNAISANCE MISSION TO THE IMPERIAL CAPITAL. THERE WAS A MEETING IN THE WAR ROOM, AND IT SEEMS THAT THREE MEMBERS
OF THE SPLATTERBOLT SQUAD ARE WOUNDED. REPARES TO THE STRUTURE ARE UNDER WAY.
~END OF TRANSFER~~FURTHER ACCESS DENIED~
Chris
lapsed into a trance and saw the events happen all over again in his head. All hell broke loose, thermal detonators thrown
here and there, just plain everywhere. The report was correct, but only two of his squad were down and one was incoherent.
- How? - He asked himself -How did they get in so
fast? There must have been a few inside guys planted into the U.P. staff positions. -
Somebody new was the only answer he could come up
with. None of the veteran officers would have done something like this. Or would they have? Chris could not forget the story
of Commander Ray Eichler. Stationed at the frontier base of Formic-two, Cmdr. Eichler was a respected U.P. Officer, and was
even considered for the rank of General. But as it was, luck was not on Rays side, nor was wit for that matter. The Imperials
had had their eyes on Formic-two for two reasons: there were vast sources of raw materials on the jungle planetoid, and it
was a great strategic military point. So when the Imperials came to invade, Cmdr. Ray turned coats and surrendered to them.
Being the fiends they are, the Imperials massacred the population and interrogated Ray. After extracting the information for
him, they let the commander go, but with an evil twist. Ray was infected with the deadly Bacta virus. The Bacta virus is so
deadly, that all organic life on a planet could be wiped out in a matter of weeks. The Imperials then placed Ray on a space
station and anonymously notified the U.P. High Council of Rays whereabouts. Ray was picked up from the space station and taken
to Jomarch by the U.P. High Council for court marshal on treason. While Ray was there, the Bacta virus spread through out
the population, and with in the week, all of Jomarch was a barren, acidic desert planet. Even now, hot spot teams have reported
that the planet will not be able to support life for millennia.
-But would any of my team members do that? No, they
wouldnt. -
'Hey Wedge!' Chris yelled over to the cubicle assigned
to the Hall Administrator.
'Yeah? Wadju want?' Wedge called back, his three
tongues preventing him from enunciating the English language.
'Come in here would you, please?'
'Oks, sure Bosses. Wadju want anyways?'
'I have to go to the Sick bay and check on my crew.
I want you to keep looking up these security reports and tapes. Ok?'
'I does have other works, but ok-sa, 'Wedge commented.
'I does that Bosses.'
'Also tell me if any thing new pops up, ok Wedge?'
'Yeah, yeah. Gosa and get Chris let us workas here!'
'Don't you mean let you work?' Chris retorted.
'Dunt mak fun of the way we talkas, Bosses. It tis
sou not pulite, sssirs.'
With that, Chris left the hall. Bothans. They cannot talk
English correctly, and they are so darn sensitive. Those three tongues may catch flies well, but at the cost of talking? Well,
I might as well go check on my squad members in the Sick bay. -
CHAPTER 4
1830
hours, Medical Station, Sick Bay
1 Ensign
badly hurt, maybe even mortally, 1 Intelligence Technician with a minor concussion and a wrecked lower body (Paralysis is
curable now days), and a Private that was groggy, irritable, insubordinate, but physically ok. Mentally? Who really knows
about that? Matt A. was expendable, but Matt S. showed promiseFarce promise. Oh, what a day!
Cmdr.
Morris looked at the sheets at each of the patients beds, and asked out loud to the nurse on duty, 'So, how are they doing?'
'Sir, can you not see, nor read?' spouted a nurse,
tending to Matt S.
'Yes, I can, Madam. I only wanted your personal and
professional opinion.' Morris replied back.
'Look at the Med reports and you will see my report
and opinion, Commander sir!' the nurse replied instantly.
'Jeeees, arent you a saucy nurse. ,' Cmdr. Morris
commented back.
'Meet me in the Infirmary medical supply closet in
five minutes, and you will see how saucy I can get Commander.'
'Sorry Mademoiselle, but I have to work. Theres no
pleasure will Emperor David reins. I'll have to pass on your offer.'
'Ok
then, its your loss' the nurse replies and she leaves the room on route to the supply to get some serum for Sherbel.
'Yeah, sure, my loss. Chisst! What a day this has
been. Damn, was she fine. Whatever' Cmdr. Morris mumbles as he examines the reports. The ensign seemed to be taking a turn
for the worse, while Sherbel had recovered faster than expected. Chris sensed something abnormal about the kid, and thats
why he had requested the boy to his squadron. Suddenly, the nurses head appeared in the doorway
'How about later, sweetie poochkins? I get off in
an hour. '
'Sure, I'm always up for a challenge.' He replies,
without looking up. The nurse leaves and Chris gets back to the reports. What a day, what a day. What am I going to do? I
have a bunch of meetings, not to mention this little crisis. Then theres J-
'Whose sweetie poochkins, Commander? And what challenge
are you up to?' Capt. Cooper asked him from behind. Chris scrambled for and explanation, or a euphemism of some sort to cover
himself.
'Well, what is it, Chris? Come on, I want to know.'
'Ahh, its nothing, Jenn. Just ignore it.'
'I bet that you're lying to me. I can sense it.'
'So? Whats it to you if I bend the truth?'
'It better not be about sex, Chris. You know what
the manual said.'
'Yeah, why? So what if it is?'
'Ewww, thats disgusting Chris! Gross! Commander,
you are 26 years old and she is like what, 17?'
'She's 16. Shes advanced for her age. Been through
Med school.'
'Still, thats like ten years older. Thats just not
right. Dont you believe in romance?'
'Heh, hey, she asked for it'
'Chris, you can't do it. Think of the outcomes!'
'But, she thinks Im hot. And who wouldnt with a body
like this?' Chris looks at Jenn and sees that she does not believe him. 'I think she is hot. Theres attraction for you. Heck, were both ready in ever possible way. We learned about sex on the Internet when
we were four, remember Jenn? And all your brothers magazines helped too. So I think Ive proved my point perfectly.'
'Im warning you, Chris 'Jennifer said, and she glared
at him.
'Jees, whats your pro... ok, ok, Fine, what ever
' Chris mumbled.
'Thank you. Now Im going down to the cafeteria for
some brunch and coffee. Should I bring you anything?'
'No thanks, I'll pass. 'Chris then tries to look
busy with the reports in his hands.
'Ok. Ill be back in a half hour. And I meant what
I said Chris. In fact, Ill go and tell her your change of plans.' Jenn then stormed out of the room. Chris did not know why
he had her on his team. She was always disrespectful to him. Probably cause she was the daughter of a senator. Chris never
did trust the politicians.
'You think she likes you, Commander? 'Chris Atwood
asked suddenly from behind him.
'Who, Jenn? Nawww, I dont think so. She just spoiled.'
Chris answered back, wondering why people loved to come from behind him. If he werent so stressed, the Geni powers would work
better. Master Brienen had told him the emotions cloud ones perception. Cmdr. Morris could usually control all the emotions
that led to the Dark side. Chris promised he would try to control his emotions better. Then again, Master did say, Do or do
not. There is no try.
'Yeah, Commander, youre right. She clearly likes
me more.'
'In your dreams, Captain. That wimpy tech Matt, well,
the other Matt, the private, would have a better chance than you.'
Suddenly
the intercom beeped, and a familiar voice slur came on.
'Bosses? Cmdr. Morris, I have finished the reports
and have reviewed them. The other agentsss have narrowed down the possssible traitorsss down to one personas'
'Thanks Wedge. So, who is the leak in my system.
Have you notified the High council?'
'No,
Bosses I have not notifies the Highs yet. I thought you would wants to knows it first. I concernas you mores, Bosses. The
leakas in the system is Ensign Nick Cagel, Bosses.'
